Charming market in a charming area
Located between a church and a canal, and forming the spiritual heart of that most charming of neighborhoods, the Jordaan, the Noordermarkt (Northern Market) hosts both a haggle-friendly Monday morning flea market and a textiles market on Westerstraat.
Noordermarkt also hosts an organic farmers' market (Boerenmarkt) on Saturdays, next to the regular street market on Lindengracht. It doesn’t get much more ‘old world’ than this. After your market strolling, refuel with a slice of apple pie at a local café.
A classic, but truly fun. Every Monday morning - the earlier the better! Come here for beautiful, cheap clothes and books. They sell antiques too (less cheap though). We love the Saturday market for organic (Dutch) veggies and cheeses.
