The world's largest golden teakwood mansion
Vimanmek Mansion was built in 1900 by King Rama V by having the Munthatu Rattanaroj Residence in Chuthathuj Rachathan at Ko Sichang, dismantled and reassembled in Dusit Garden. This is the world’s largest golden teak wood mansion with an elaborate architectural style.
Vimanmek Mansion boasts 31 exhibition rooms, with the bedrooms, the throne room and the bathrooms maintaining the atmosphere of the Thai past. Some display rooms house exhibitions of Thai art including silverware, ceramics, crystal ware, and ivory.
Each day there are two shows of traditional Thai dance at 10:30
Proper attire is required - no shorts, sleeveless shirts or shower thongs.
