Moorish settlement and fortress
The ancient Castell de Guadalest is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Spain. The fortress is a Spanish National Heritage Site. It can be found in Guadalest, is a small town in the mountainous part of the comarca of Marina Baixa.
Castell de Guadalest is approximately 25 kilometres inland from Benidorm along CV-70 road. Other attractions in Guadalest include the Tower-crag of Alcalá, the church of Mare de Déu de l'Assumpció and the Gaol, a 12th century prison and water tank.
