Four Mediterranean civilizations

Levante is popular for its beach, the Levante Playa, which is so close to the old city and the Centro, that it can be accessed on foot. Levante is one of the more popular tourist destinations in the summer, attracting large crowds on the beach, but also on the beautiful Avenida Mare de Déu del Sofratge promenade. Parte Vieja, the old quarter of Benidorm, boasts some of the most interesting attractions in the city, and splendid views from Placa del Castell. It’s a quirky neighborhood, popular mainly with tourists, who enjoy the tapas hangouts on Calle de Santo Domingo, late night adult entertainment on Carrer del Pal, or strolling and shopping on Passeig de la Carretera. Benidorm’s other famous beach, Poniente, gives its name to this lively district, which, despite its proximity to the old town, is less crowded than Levante, and a bit more authentic. A local favorite, Poniente has, nevertheless, a good share of touristic attractions, including Terra Mitica - a huge theme park with a variety of rides, ideal for family entertainment.
