A great European and German landmark
The Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor) is one of the main symbols of Germany. This monumental gate leads into Unter den Linden, the famous boulevard of linden trees, and is the only one remaining of the several that formerly entered Berlin. It’s one of Europe’s most famous landmarks.
The Brandenburg Gate is a grand and majestic sight that’s symbolic to so many in Germany. It stands for both the city’s division and unification, and was even originally built as a symbol of peace in the 18th Century. Its design is based upon the Propylaea, the gateway to the Acropolis in Athens, Greece. The gate consists of twelve Doric columns, six to each side, and forms five impressive passageways.

Go to Brandenburg Gate by night. There will be less people and the chance to get a picture in front of the illuminated Brandenburg Gate with no one else on it than you is huge.
