One of the world's best and biggest zoos
Dating from 1841, right in the middle of the city, the Zoologischer Garten & Aquarium is home to around 14,000 critters, varmints and beasts including Knut the baby polar bear, Berlin’s Zoologischer Garten is one of the world’s oldest, largest, most famous and most important zoos.
The Zoologischer Garten & Aquarium is also a great day out, marvelously landscaped and well supplied with both architectural curiosities and refreshment opportunities. And if it’s raining, the aquarium contains 500 curious creatures of its own.
