Meet the townspeople of Blists Hill
Blists Hill Victorian Town, one of the ten Ironbridge Gorge museums, is a working museum. The ‘workers’ are fully dressed and actively playing the role of day-to-day life to recreate a small Victorian town of the 1770s.
The town covers at least 50 acres of exhibits and attractions, made up of actual remains, recreations and transporting of original Victorian establishments.
Enjoy the original industrial site, and interact with the Blists Hill townspeople. The mine and canal, ironworks, blast furnace and sawmill portray industrial activity of the 1700s. Visit the miner’s cottage and the classroom to get an idea of home life during this period. Make some stops at the chemist, grocer’s and butcher’s shops. Take a stroll down the main street and back in time with a visit to Blists Hill Victorian Town.
