A lively art scene from small galleries to big spaces
Budapest has a healthy network of modest and medium-sized commercial galleries, and artist-run spaces, making for a lively and inventive scene. Two hubs have emerged of late: one on and around Ráday utca between Kálvin tér metro station and the Nagykörút, the other in the outer reaches of District VII between Keleti station and Városliget. Of the public Budapest art galleries, the Ludwig and the Barcsay Terem consistently show notable contemporary artists from Hungary and surroundings.
