Host of the annual Cannes Film Festival

It hosts one of the most prestigious International film festivals in the world, but Cannes is more than a travel destination for filmophiles. Fashionistas and fun-seekers will find an exclusive city with high-end restaurants, exotic nightlife, luxury boutiques, and designer fashion shops lining La Croisette. Cannes is an amazing experience for the posh traveler, but it attracts history lovers as well, as no other town on the French Riviera has such a dramatic and mysterious past. One example? The famous Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned on the Ile Sainte-Marguerite, half a mile off shore from the city.

Blundellsands Beach

One of Liverpool’s top places to chill out

Stay Editor's Note

Blundellsands Beach offers a nice, attractive respite from the hustle and bustle of the city, reclining on a deckchair, basking in the glorious sunshine, listening to the sound of the waves as the tide gently rolls in. Until it rains, at any rate.

Joking aside, Bundellsands Beach is one of Liverpool’s top places to chill out during the summer months, and even during those long and chilly winters its popular with dog walkers and the like. The beach stretches from the boating marina to the edge of Liverpool’s industrial docks, with a busy promenade running along its length where one can find dozens of great bakeries, cafes, restaurants, shops and pubs.
