Visit a world-renowned architectural gem
Take the DART to Clontarf Road, or one of the regular northbound buses from the city centre to Fairview, from where it’s a short walk to the astonishing Casino Marino, one of the finest 18th-century neoclassical buildings in Europe.
Designed by Sir William Chambers as a pleasure house for James Caulfeild, 1st Earl of Charlemont, casino in this case means ‘small house’. However, it’s large enough to have 16 rooms, all rich in detail and decoration.
