From trad to trendy, there's fun to be found for all
It’s getting ever easier to disprove the long-held notion that Ireland is a nation, and Dublin a city, of drinkers – and not only because of the smoking ban. Changes to the licensing laws mean that all late-night Dublin bars and pubs have to close at 2.30am, Monday to Saturday, and on Sunday nights regular pub closing time is 11pm and for late-night bars it’s 1am. Plus pubs, off-licences and shops are now prohibited from selling alcohol after 10pm. If you’re forewarned about these rules, however, you can still have a good night out. Just check closing times with venues in advance.
