Historic charm

Gothenburg is rich in attractions of historic significance. From all its churches, the oldest and most decorated is Oscar Fredrik Church. Visit Haga, the city’s historic district, with picturesque wooden houses from the 19th century. Other important Gothenburg attractions are Skansen Kronan, which currently hosts a military museum, and Skansen Lejonet in the middle of the industrial area, near the railroad. The beautiful English garden Slottsskogen can be also considered a major attraction, its proximity to the botanical gardens making it popular with tourists as well.
