Havana Bars & Pubs
Havana is full of places to party and sample the rum
Tourists inspired by Havana's legendary decadence of long-gone decades are often disappointed by the Havana bars and pubs scene, which is noticeably more low-key than you might expect. That said, the European-style patio bars on the 17th-century plazas in Habana Vieja (Old Havana) are perfect for a late afternoon/early evening drink. Bars in Habana Vieja tend to be lively affairs, but largely filled with tourists. To drink with Cubans head down to the Malecón sea wall with a bottle of rum or head to Miramar to rub shoulder with the chi chi crowd.
