Havana – a uniquely cultured city

Havana is an instantly captivating city. Whether wandering through the stunning UNESCO heritage site of Habana Vieja, snapping revolutionary icons or touring the country for yourself, you can’t help but be impressed by the city’s distant and more immediate heritage. But the city’s history doesn’t end there – this is cultural nirvana. It is rich with world-class ballet, theatre, galleries and music that are both affordable and accessible. Oh, and did we mention the beautiful Caribbean beach just 15km down the road?

El Floridita

Harking back to Hemingway's day

Stay Editor's Note

The food is expensive in El Floridita but is worth it if only for the sheer ambiance redolent of the grand old days when Hemingway himself drank his daiquiri here.

There is an elegant circular dining area with marble pillars and sultry lighting. Lavish and inventive dishes include flaming shrimp in rum and lobster thermidor.
