Traditional village life
The Outlying Islands surround Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories. Because of the late development, many of the islands remained largely rural. On any of these islands visitors can witness genuine rural life, and sample traditional food like nowhere else in Hong Kong.
The most visited of the Outlying Islands are Lantau, Peng Chau, Lamma and Cheung Chau, from which Lantau is a popular recreation spot for urban dwellers on Sundays and holidays.
