The "Pride of the Pacific"
A historic Vaudeville theatre and cinema in downtown Honolulu, the Hawaii Theatre was proclaimed as the “Pride of the Pacific” upon opening in 1922, considered by the Consolidated Amusement Company (which opened it), the equal in opulence to any theatre in San Francisco or beyond.
Today, the Hawaii Theatre hosts a number of various events, including concerts, beauty pageants, theater slams, circus, stage shows and more. Every Tuesday of the month at 11:00 AM the theater offers guided tours of the building, and a demonstration of the Robert Morton Orchestral Theatre Pipe Organ.
