Urban sprawl, hot summers, and a multicultural city

The largest city in Texas, Houston is also one of the most ethnic diverse in the US, with the country’s largest Asian, Arab and Latin American populations. Its multicultural essence can be found everywhere, from museums, to the performing arts and also in the diverse shopping and dining opportunities. Your Houston travel guide will most likely include attractions in the Skyline District, and the Historic District, but don’t be afraid to explore the less popular areas of the city. Gay nightlife is centered in Neartown, around Pacific St. and surrounding streets. The South Loop’s Rice Village is a highly concentrated area of restaurants, bars, and shopping.

Back Booth

A nice place to catch local music talent

Stay Editor's Note

Back Booth is one of Downtown Orlando’s nicest venues for live music. Local artists appear frequently and the place’s beer and wine tradition helps its appeal to locals. Its new location across from the University of Central Florida put the spot on the student map too.

The thing that sets this bar apart is the atmosphere. For a live music venue the sound system is crucial. Part of this is carried through by the equipment, while the other aspects have to do with the acoustics. Back Booth has both going on. Up close and personal sounds good here.
