Pewter factory museum
The largest and oldest pewter factory in the world, Royal Selangor has become a Malaysian icon and the School of Hard Knocks inside the factory is a very popular children’s tour.
For a fee of RM50, visitors can have access to the factory and visitors’ centre as well as a 25-minute session in the School of Hard Knocks. Kids ages 5 and up will get to know all the details of making pewter from knocking and bashing metal sheets using hammers and mallets. They will be able to form and engrave their own initials, and then keep it for their souvenir.
The School of Hard Knocks possesses an interactive gallery, computer games, and plenty of pewter hand-prints to keep visitors engaged for a long time.
