The temple of the golden pavilion

At first, residence for Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, Kinkaku-ji Temple is probably the most well known landmark in Kyoto. Beautifully covered in thin golden leaves, Kinkaku-ji reflects its timeless beauty in the mirror lake below, with its islands of rocks.

Between the pine trees, Kinkaku-ji is a breathtaking view, a must see for everybody visiting Kyoto. A lovely tea house and the beautiful garden are equally worth seeing. Entrance fee is 300-400JPY.
