From morning coffee breaks to a late night drink with friends, the bars and cafes of Madrid never seem to stop. Walk the streets for a few hours and the claim that the city has over 100,000 bars suddenly doesn't seem that unreasonable. These places are a great way to experience the essense of the city too; many of them still have beautiful old interiors which add to the atmopshere. (Expect to pay more if you want to drink at their terrace tables.)
