Small, elegant and expensive
Since it was established in 1973, Zalacain has been known as one of the very best restaurants in Madrid. The restaurant was named after an adventurer in a Pío Baroja's novel written in 1909. This restaurant is extremely elegant, both with the food and the décor.
The walls are covered with textiles and paintings giving it the feel of luxury. Men should wear a jacket and tie and expect a high tab. They offer nouvelle cuisine to Spain and serve incredible food that included only the best detail and the freshest ingredients. Fifteen chefs and a wait staff of 20 are there to deliver some of the best dishes Madrid has to offer. Zalacain’s fabulous dishes feature International specialties of the most precise and innovative execution. Try their grilled pigs’ feet or their oysters with caviar and sherry jelly. They serve crêpes stuffed with fish, lobster salad and bouillabaisse.
Try one of their custards or the Chocolate Volcano for dessert and choose from their selection of around 35,000 bottles of wine in their very own wine cellar. Zalacain caters to private diners as well as larger groups for events.
