Ross Hutchison

I’m a chef with a passion for new food experiences. I first apprenticed at a restaurant in Texas and quickly learned that the best culinary teaching does not come from a school, but is discovered from within.

I took my love for tailor-made culinary experiences to Spain where I fuse my cooking style with the local diversity of produce. I love to teach and to nourish, and only give great, honest food. I am at home here in Mallorca, cooking food that bring smiles to peoples faces.

I landed in Deia at the end of 1980. Funny how fate finds itself when we have a dream and a vision to help it along. I had a vision since I was 15 years old to live a simple life on an island in the mountains by the sea, although I grew up in the windy city of Chicago. I sailed the ocean and fate had it that this was my island and Deia my village. It’s simple and rich at the same time.

    An idyllic retreat

This trip is harder to plan than I expected. I couldn't find too many things to do with the children in Mallorca. I suppose the Island counts more on beach fun than anything else. Well, luckily there are two puppet museums and many excellent cafeterias.
