Malmö Castle
Malmöhus is a fortress founded in 1434 by King Eric of Pomerania, the first King of the Nordic Kalmar Union. Today, this is the oldest remaining Renaissance castle in Scandinavia.
Historically, Malmöhus was one of the most important strongholds of Denmark. After being used as a fortress, it was transformed into a prison, and today it is a museum complex, housing the Malmö Museer and the Malmö Konstmuseum.
