Vibrant, multi-cultural city

They say Malmo is home to people from over 150 countries, making the city the most cosmopolitan in Sweden. So you can expect a Malmo travel guide to feature unexpectedly exotic attractions for this part of the world. While the architecture is typical for Sweden, the city’s cultural life, and its dining opportunities, reflect its citizens. For the Swedish spirit of the place, visit Malmöhus Castle, former residency of the kings of Denmark, today a museum complex hosting a history museum, art museum, aquarium, and terrarium. Folkets park is quite exciting for the little ones, and for those of you who visit Malmo in August, Malmöfestivalen offers many cultural and culinary experiences.

An old beautiful theatre with great music of every kind. If you happen to visit Malmö when there’s a picnic concert here, don’t hesitate! Bring your own food, drinks or whatever it may be and enjoy.

Stay Editor's Note

Victoriateatern boasts music and theater stages for a variety of entertainment events, including dance performances, jazz concerts, theatrical performances and more. A popular feature of the theater is the “picnic seating” where guests can enjoy the food and drinks they have brought with them.

Victoriateatern is a historic venue, dating from September 9, 1912. The venue still shows movie screenings, theme movies, film festivals and much more. Cafeteria with snacks and refreshments available on site.
