Award winning park

A Local Nature Reserve, Chorlton Water Park was developed on the former site of the Barlow Hall Farm. The lake in the park was man-made in the 1970s in a pit that provided gravel for the construction of the M60 motorway. The lake is a fishing paradise, but it is also used for water sports.

Chorlton Water Park also features playground for children, walking and cycling trails, horse tracks, and more. The park is a holder of the Civic Trust’s Green Flag Award, the UK Man and the Biosphere Urban Wildlife Award for Excellence.
