Family friendly museum of exploration
The Museum of Science and Industry is a family-friendly playground of vintage technology set amid the converted remains of Liverpool Road's 1830s railway station.
Highlights include a walk-through replica of the Victorian sewer system (more interesting than it sounds), a huge Power Hall of thrusting, steaming turbines like something from the feverish dreams of Brunel, and the equally impressive Air and Space Hall featuring a pantheon of airborne greats including a colossal Shackleton bomber.
