In Marrakech, attractions are not all that conventional, particularly as all the mosques and major religious monuments are closed to non-Muslims. In a determined mood, you could whizz around what there is in less than a day. It’s tempting to engage an official guide, but make it clear that you don’t want to be dragged to a carpet shop and expect more in the way of a rather too well rehearsed routine than any kind of genuine insight.
