Serenity and tiling at Quranic school
Entered via a long, mysterious corridor and centred around an impressively tranquil courtyard, the Ben Youssef Medersa is a former Quranic school that was founded in the 14th century, expanded 200 years later under the Saadians, and still in use until the early 1960s.
The tiling and stucco work is exceptional, and though there’s really not much more to see except the cell-like student quarters upstairs, this is one of the most satisfying attractions in Marrakech.
