Delightful Saturday crafts market
One of the most unique attractions in Mexico City is the Plaza San Jacinto, which specializes in crafts and artworks that are locally made and sold every Saturday. It is more popularly known as Bazar Sabado, located in the San Angel district.
Plaza San Jacinto is hugely popular and you can find several restaurants, a park and shopping centres for unique handicrafts. The plaza has been known in the past in many names including La Plaza, La Placita and La Plaza de los Largartos (Plaza of Alligators) for there were alligators inside a pond that has a fountain and trees at the center of the Plaza.
The Plaza San Jacinto became popular before because of the statue largely known as the “The Boy with the Leaking Boot” which stayed there for 50 years before it was transferred in the City Hall.
