A file of the rich Native Indian life
Miccosukee Indian Village & Airboat Rides is 30 minutes west of the Florida Turnpike, in the heart of the beautiful Everglades. The Miccosukees were a branch of the Seminole tribe, who took refuge from the Seminole wars in the Everglades marshland. The village provides insight into the culture of the tribe.
Visitors can see live the Miccosukee Indians at work, and their different arts and crafts making. There are also a small museum on site - Miccosukee Museum, a casino and a golf club. The Miccosukees perform live demonstrations with alligators; and offer Everglades tours on airboats .
