Many Moscow museums are installed in former palaces, so visiting any of these is like stepping back in time and witnessing the opulence of the czars and czarinas. If you enjoy art, you’ll find in Moscow the most significant Impressionist and Post-Impressionist collections. An interesting museum, the Garden of Fallen Monuments, is where many infamous statues in Moscow were placed after the Soviet collapse. Last, but not least, the State Museum-Reserve Tsaritsyno is the largest palatial ensemble in Russia.
