A quiet haven in the midst of the mayhem
Those interested in Angevin Gothic will want to see the stark Santa Chiara church, with its impressive bell tower, or perhaps the religious museum, but the highlight is the spectacular majolica cloister.
An oasis of peace, perfect peace, fading 14th-century frescoes adorn Santa Chiara’s surrounding walls, but take second place to the garden. Citrus trees and hanging vines are complemented by benches and octagonal columns covered in hand-painted tiles from the 18th century.
