Learn to cook the most popular local dishes
The New Orleans School of Cooking and Louisiana General Store are located in a renovated molasses warehouse built in the 1800s in the heart of the French Quarter. They are open 7 days a week and offer a general store, a variety of cooking classes, and other events.
Each class at the New Orleans School of Cooking is taught by 1 of 7 well-known chefs sharing their secrets in the trade of preparing traditional Cajun and Creole cuisine. Pralines, Corn & Crab Bisque and Jambalaya are just a few of the large variety of local classics that The New Orleans Cooking School shares with guests.
Taste testing is a requirement at the New Orleans School of Cooking! Each chef entertains their class with New Orleans folklore, history and trivia. Sessions include the Open Demonstration Lunch Classes, Private Demonstration Classes, “Hands-on” Cooking Classes and Teambuilding Classes. The school even offers off-site Cooking Demonstrations, “Hands-on” Classes or Challenges. Prizes are offered for some class selections.
