Stay up late in the city that never sleeps
It may not be as hopping as in its 1970s and 80s heyday, but the downtown New York nightclubs scene has been showing signs of rejuvenation. Head for the Lower East Side or the East Village for no-frills dance dens and small music venues with a more underground vibe; there’s a more glam scene in the Meatpacking District. For more sedentary entertainment, you can catch well-known names on the comedy and cabaret circuit.
