Explore a hidden redwood forest
The Redwood Regional Park is home to a hidden and quiet redwood forest only a few miles from downtown Oakland. Walk through the evergreens, chaparral, and grasslands that cover the park’s nearly 1,900 acres and accompany the Sequoia sempervirens that give Redwood its name.
When at the Redwood Regional Park, be on the lookout for wildlife encounters and try to spot their rare species - the golden eagle and Alameda striped racer snake. Or else prepare to be amazed by the wandering deer, raccoons, rabbits, and squirrels.
Play areas, picnic spots, children’s playgrounds and camping facilities complete the Redwood experience.
