Oak trees and gorgeous Bay views

It may not be as exciting as San Francisco, but Oakland still has a enough for a few pleasant days. The city is home to the USS Potomac, a recommendation for your Oakland travel guide, alongside the city’s museum, art galleries and parks. Shopping is fun in Oakland too, especially if you have a passion for hats - there is no men’s hat store like The Hat Guys anywhere else. For gifts, souvenirs, good dining and other shopping opps, follow College Avenue - it’s a local favorite as well.

Sand Springs Beach

Sun bathe and enjoy the view

Stay Editor's Note

One of the most popular beaches in the Oakland area, Sand Springs Beach is one of the gems of Angel Island. It is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, having fun with water sports and even camping close to the sand and sound of waves.

You can never get bored on Sand Springs Beach, as you can choose between boating, hiking, whitewater paddling, golfing, swimming, and fishing when sunbathing and swimming are not enough. There’s camping nearby, along with a bowling alley and the Rancho Saguaro, top destination for horseback riding.
