Archeological treasures
One of the most important archaeological museums in Italy, Museo Archeologico Regionale is house of a large selection of artifacts, from the prehistoric times to the Roman times.
Housed in a former monastery, the museum includes important Sicilian items from the Phoenician, Punic, Greek, Roman, and Saracen periods Egypt is also represented through some very valuable artifacts. The metopes of Selinunte are considered the most important treasures of the museum.
