Ideal for warming up before going to a club
A bit of an anomaly, this. Grand and imperial, and located within sight of high-end glitz, Sir Winston does a nice line in jazz and gospel brunches on a Sunday. Colonial knick-knacks, chesterfields and chandeliers make up the decor, with Winnie himself framed behind a sturdy bar counter.
A battalion of whiskies stands guard beside him, and the wine list is equally recherché. Where this place falters is in its somewhat sissy cocktail menu. A Sir Winston Breezer of Bacardi, melon liqueur, pineapple and banana juice? Harrumph!
