A floating pool located on the bank of the River Seine
La Piscine Josephine Baker is an incredible floating swimming pool located on the bank of the River Seine. It was named after American-born French resistance heroine, Josephine Baker who received the Croix de Guerre, the highest military honor. The complex was completed in 2006.
La Piscine Josephine Baker is open all year except on certain holidays. Its retracting roof allows for fresh air and open space during the summer months. This barge-like pool especially attracts children and it can accommodate up to 350 people. There is even an area for toddlers to swim. The pool takes water from the river, treats it and eventually recycles it back into the river.
