The hometown of tenor Andrea Bocelli

Lajatico is famous as the birthplace of Andrea Bocelli, but the small commune at the end of the Valdera valley has a lot more to offer to the avid traveler. Its hilly sceneries are an inspiration for artists, and the bucolic nature makes for an ideal spot to spend a relaxing, family vacation.

Attractions in Lajatico include Orciatico, an ancient small medieval village; the Parish Church of St. Leonard; the ancient Oratory of St. Sebastian; the ruins of an ancient castle; and the Municipal Palace.

Visit Lajatico in July, if you want to hear Bocelli perform at Teatro del Silenzio.
