Connecting Eastern and Western Europe
As a famous passage over the Vltava river, the Charles Bridge (Karluv Most) is quite a sight to behold, giving you ample opportunity to take in the breathtaking views of the city. Build in the 1300s, the bridge itself is a long-standing testimony to the reign of King Charles IV.
For centuries, Charles Bridge (Karluv Most) was the only way to cross the Vltava river, connecting the trade route between Eastern and Western Europe. The bridge has since been expanded and further fortified, but still represents the distinction between the old-world style of Gothic Prauge, and the modernity of the current downtown area.
