Modern meets traditional in grand old Prague

Whilst many European cities have gradually modernised and adapted a 21st century look, Prague excels as changing with the times whilst remaining postcard old-beautiful. Strolling around you get a sense of Prague’s rich and troubled history, but the café culture of old meets the new cosmopolitan desire to embrace the weekend-away spirit. As for shopping, you can still unearth beautiful craftsmanship and wonderful jewellery.

A popular nightclub that attracts big name DJs

Stay Editor's Note

The centre of progressive programming in Prague, the good old Roxy is nevertheless dominated by digital dance tracks, but this crumbling former movie house is also a hot live venue for folk like Roisin Murphy or local and Euro tribal and electronica acts.

The (free) Monday night events are a good bet, when local talent takes over.
