Traditional Jewish fare
Shalom offers traditional kosher food, along with non-kosher dishes. It offers red borsch and eggplant, carp fillet, and stuffed mushroom, to name a few. Its available desserts include Jewish baklava and honey cake.
Shalom is conveniently located just five minutes away from the old city of Riga. The restaurant is a small cottage with light blue interiors. It has the distinctive Star of David in neon blue in its front-street windows. The restaurant sometimes features live music to entertain diners and guests.
As with all Jewish establishments, Shalom closes during Jewish holidays. Shabbat also dictates that it should not operate at sundown on Fridays, all day on Saturdays until Sunday morning.
