A taste of the good old pioneer times

Once a thriving riverfront pioneer town, Sacramento has a lot to offer to history buffs. Many excellent Sacramento museums reflect the city’s spirit and history, and add an extra something, as you’ll soon discover. The Crocker Art Museum is the oldest continuously operating museum in the West; and the California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento offers steam train rides at the Central Pacific Railroad Freight Depot.
