A kid's dream come true, no matter what age they are
The California State Railroad Museum is the largest train museum in the United States. This fabulous collection of vintage trains and associated equipment, the entire museum, is dedicated to accuracy and detail. Located in historic Old Sacramento, this is one of the area’s most visited attractions.
The museum recreates the golden days of American railroading circa 1849, when the 49'ers and the gold rush were all that was news. Cars, locomotives, bridges, equipment, even scale models and toy trains, anything you can imagine associated with railroads, you’ll find it here. This is a kid’s locomotive dream come true, no matter what age.
