Former private clubs, open for daily fun
There’s no smoking in Salt Lake City bars and pubs, which is a good thing, but what’s really annoying is that, if you look younger than, let’s say, 35, they’ll always ask for your ID before serving you alcoholic beverages. So don’t go bar hopping without your documents if you want to enjoy your visit. Other than that, there are still a number of bars and pubs in private club regime, but most of them are now open for all customers. The good thing about the private club tradition is that most of the bars in Salt Lake City preserved that old-fashioned courtesy and service quality, which makes them some of the best in the state.
