Multi purpose entertainment and culture building
Once a hotel, the Joseph Smith Memorial Building was built in 1911, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places as the Hotel Utah in 1978. Today, the building is used to host varied institutions, and cultural events.
Joseph Smith Memorial Building is thus home to the FamilySearch center, the Legacy Theater, two restaurants, and chapel. The building also features separate rooms for weddings and other events. Tours of the building are also available.
