Shanghai Art Galleries
Riverside art heaven
Galleries have mushroomed all over Shanghai in the past few years, yet the undoubted center of art remains M50, a textile factory turned creative garden beside Suzhou Creek. Packed with studios and galleries, it's often compared to London's Hoxton and New York's Meatpacking District. It's worth at least a half-day visit. No map is needed: just go where your feet take you, and you'll find a cluster of art spaces around every corner you turn.
