Old building, fine art
The building housing Shanghai Art Museum is a piece of art itself. Built in 1934, it used to be the clubhouse of Shanghai Race Club, with a grand clocktower that’s hard to miss when you’re in the neighbourhood.
A range of permanent and rotating exhibitions of fine art are held in its 12 exhibition halls. Be warned there are very few English translation and no audio tour available.
