WWII commemoration
In memory of the siege of Leningrad, the large and imposing Monument to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad demonstrates the ethos of Russian politics at the end of World War II.
The Monument to the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad can be seen from the main road as you enter the city, with a wide staircase leading up to the statue itself. You’ll see the heroic bronze figures in all their glory, riding in eternal flames, before you enter Memorial Hall.
